Symptoms of COVID 19 include: cough, fever, difficulty breathing and runny nose. If you experience these, contact your primary physician first. They will determine if you need to get tested (not everyone gets tested). There is no known cure or vaccination. Shelter in place unless your breathing is so difficult and after consulting with your doctor you may be told to go to the hospital. If you don’t have a family physician call the referral line 814.375.6644 8am-8pm

Clearfield County RECYCLING – the Clearfield County Solid Waste Authority is asking that you stop using the county Recycling Drop offs immediately. Store your recyclables at this time till it is safe to recycle again. 

UNITED WAY and Family Wize are committed to connecting residents to prescription savings during this critical time. No card is required so you can call in your prescription to your local pharmacy and provide the info off the card. – the card lowers your prescription price by an average of 45%. Get a card by calling 1-800-222-2818 or ask your local participating pharmacy. 

FOOD PANTRY INFO – (3.29.20) USDA approved the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s request to operate a Disaster Household Distribution program. This program will allow food banks to provide vital food assistance to all Pennsylvanians who are experiencing significant economic challenges due to the spread of COVID-19 by reducing administrative hurdles they would otherwise face. DuBois Area Food Pantry will be open for DRIVE THROUGH ONLY Thurs. April 9th 8:30am-11:30am

PennDOT info: (3.29.20) PennDOT has extended the expiration date  for driver licenses, ID cards, learner’s permits, vehicle registrations and more. Deadline is now extended through May 31, 2020 for anything set to expire between now and April 30th. More info at

Making Masks for area hospitals and nursing homes– Joanne Crafts at the DuBois Mall has kits to make masks for medical professionals – all the material is donated, you just have to be able to sew them- they come in packs of ten masks with instructions.  Stop in and pick them up-and when you’ve made them, drop them back off at Joanne’s! They’ll get them to the hospitals and nursing homes that need them. Open Thursday through Monday 10 to 5. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

-CANCELLED (as of 4.3.2020) –DuBois Nursing Home and DuBois Village are offering “Window Visits” – a chance to safely sit and talk to your loved ones there without contact and without exposing anyone to the Coronavirus.  All Window Visits must be scheduled in advance. For the DuBois Nursing Home call Bona  at 375-9100.  For DuBois Village, call Paula at 375-5483.

-Governor Wolf Granted Extension to “License to Carry Firearm Permits” today (4/2/20) – Permits that expired March 19th or later have been extended to May 30th since some county courthouses & sheriff’s offices are closed. More info at
